The battery charger is the beast responsible for giving freedom, whilst mine is a little rough around the edges it happily charges my Ni-MH batteries fine.
I haven't had to tear mine apart yet but you can hear a fan inside that kicks in when it gets warm, and going by the label there is a 4 amp slow-blow fuse - unsure if this is glass or ceramic, soldered or replaceable.
Useful notes
- Supplied in the UK by Steering Developments: https://www.sdmotion.co.uk/SD-Motion-Batteries
- Manufactured by Yamaha Motor Co. Ltd, in Japan
- Uses standard figure 8 power cable (C7)
- Variable input voltage from 100-240V, not that I'm going abroad anytime soon
- Cool design of a built in carry handle for transportation
