Fairwell Beauty <3

It's been a very sad week where I had to have my cat Beauty put to sleep.

I adopted her as a 14 year old girl who's owner had sadly passed away so I knew her stay would never be long, but after just under 2 years of pure love and affection she stopped eating. After many tests and miles between the vets and the vet hospital, it turned out to be liver cancer. I remember getting the phone call with the test results and it hit me hard. Given her age I couldn't face putting her through surgery so had to make one of the hardest decisions, but that said I had the privilege of putting her out of pain and held her right up to her very last breath. Even though she was really poorly she found the strength to give me one final nuzzle before departing as if to say "thanks human".

She was very much one of a kind and would follow me everywhere, shout loudly all the time and most importantly give good cuddles. She became my little shadow and I often wonder who rescued who. If she wasn't sat on my lap whilst I was working she'd be watching me from her favourite window sill and would come greet me when I got to the door. She was very loved and very much part of my family and I'm grateful to have had her with all her quirks.

She now sits on her favourite window sill and in her memory I've planted catnip in my garden just to keep her cheeky spirit living on.
