Battery Charging Issue

Scroll to explore

My Trekinetic came with two NiMH (nickel–metal hydride) batteries, one of which showed no signs of life - be it in the chair or when connected to the charger.

The charger would flash green and orange but apart from that not a lot happened, even when pressing the status button. That is until I had a closer look and found a blown 20 amp mini blade fuse - the kind found in cars - after I swapped that out the battery charged and survived an adventure at The Fold.

Why it blew in the first place is anyone's guess, but the fuse did it's job and sacrificed itself to protect the electronics - if it happens again I'll dig a bit deeper, but it's working again now.

As a disclaimer I do have a background in low voltage electronics so feel comfortable doing these sort of repairs, if in doubt - speak to a professional!
